Pool Rescue Competitions
Pool rescue challenges under 10s to master-level competitors’ aquatic skills with events including manikin tows, obstacle swims and tube swims carrying ‘patients’. It’s a rapidly expanding and exciting surf lifesaving sport discipline carried out in winter (during the off-season for surf lifesaving).
A more fun type of competition, your swimming ability is tested in different ways to surf events. Pool tournaments also encourage athletes who may feel uncomfortable in the ocean to get involved in the lifesaving movement.
What to bring
All participants are to bring fins for training, rubber for under 13’s and below, under 14’s and above can use fibreglass when appropriate, under coach’s guidance. A Secret Harbour SLSC swimming cap is preferred, but swimmers can use tie up cap. Members need to pay for pool entry unless you have an Aqua Jetty membership.
